What are my option as far as liability as a business owner? My employees will be in direct contact with shoppers. I will be paying self employmet taxes because at least in the beginning I will be operating as a sole owner. Is there anything I can do to look as if I am an established and big company? .
  Actually it is an online home business.   My business is located outside the city limits.             I will buy and store merchandise in my home with the purpose of selling it. Basement or garage         I will have several deliveries a day in my house. About 2 UPS deliveries a week.

I just got my building, I have to do the electric and inside walls myself before I get started. But what will I need to do after that I'm starting a small business, but this site is tricky to use. I'm trying to apply for what's required in my state I'm here. I'm pretty sure some things aren't required here. State laws vary Don't they do these things at the county clerk's office?

Hi I am looking to purchase wholesale to resell online.. But there are no taxes involved but the company is requiring a business registration or a sellers permit I just would like to know exactly what I need to do to get my small business which only consists of myself started. You need at least a BUSINESS LICENSE and an EIN. "IF," you want to buy or sell wholesale(in bulk) or sell retail( in small amounts) any materials, items or equipment, you need a SELLER'S PERMIT.Finally, if using a trade name, such as "Bob's BBQ," you will need a DBA filing. Alternatively, you can form an LLC or incorporate and that will register the name anyway plus it will protect your personal and business assets.
